Who is the service intended for?
The service is intended for anyone considering establishing a company, for start-up businesses, and for existing companies.
Who can start using the service?
Any company with a Finnish Business ID and any natural person who has a Finnish personal identification number may register as a customer. A European company or a private person can become a Customer of the Service according to the EiDAS identification principles. Customers are identified as they register and begin using the service.
How can I report errors, submit development ideas and give feedback on the service?
You can send those via e-mail, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What are the technical requirements for using the service?
The website is mainly intended for use with the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome. The layout may differ or some of the functions may not be available if a less common or an older browser version is used.
Is the service subject to a charge?
Use of the My Enterprise Finland service is free of charge. Enterprise Finland Telephone Service is subject to the local network or the mobile phone charge. Some of the Enterprise Finland partner services are subject to a fee or they require funding from the company.
What is the Enterprise Finland Telephone Service?
The telephone service covers general advice on business services. You can consult the telephone service on matters related to founding a company, public enterprise and employer services, etc. The telephone service also provides advice on using My Enterprise Finland.
The telephone service is not an outsourced Call Centre, but the advice is given by business experts operating in ELY Centres and in the TE Services.
In what languages is the service available in?
My Enterprise Finland can be used in Finnish, Swedish and English. Services connected to the MEF service, but provided by other content producers, may be available in other languages as well. The respective content producers are in charge of the various language versions.
Can I have service in English as well?
In specific questions, we can best support you if you send us an e-mail with detailed information of your question using the feedback form on the bottom of the web page (“Feedback and technical support”).
The online service My Enterprise Finland will be available in English.
How are users informed of any technical updates via the system?
The service will be unavailable during updates. Any breaks in the service will be communicated on the service front page and on the login page. During breaks, logging into the service will be disabled. This means that users cannot determine for themselves when they would prefer the update.
Are any authorities informed of the fact that I am using the service?
No. The authorities do not have access to your company's workspace. If you invite a business advisor, for example, to comment on your business plan, they can only access a limited area of the service and only for a limited period of time.
Are accounting firms aware of the service?
Entrepreneurs may request that their accounting firm becomes a user of their workspace. The user rights of the accounting firm are managed via the external Suomi.fi e-Authorizations service.
Is information stored by the service safe?
Data protection and information security is guaranteed in My Enterprise Finland.
Your information can only be accessed by you, anyone you have authorised, statutory representatives (members of your board and your Managing Director), as well as persons who have the authorisation to sign, according to the Trade Register.
The user rights for the service of existing companies are managed via an external usage and authorisation service (VIRRE and Suomi.fi e-Authorizations service). If a person has been granted such rights to the company via one of these services, the rights are automatically transferred to the My Enterprise Finland service.
How can the service be discontinued?
Customers are entitled to cancel the service at any time, by notifying Enterprise Finland (e-mail: email@example.com). In such case, any information stored in the service will be destroyed upon the customer's request.
Can Enterprise Finland remove my account?
Enterprise Finland has the right to cancel a contract, when the operations of a customer company cease or the natural person in question dies. The confidentiality of customer data and the protection of privacy are governed by the same principles, both before and after the removal.
What happens to confidential information if a service user dies, for example?
